The main and most important festival in Bhutan is knows as Tshechu or the day of the Guru Rinpoche (Guru Padmsambhava). 12th day of the Bhutanese calendar is the day dedicated to Guru Rinpoche and it is celebrated throughout Bhutan and its district wise to offer prayers and homage to Guru Rinpoche for his blessing and harmonizing all under his teachings of Buddhism.
